Built by a dog owner, for dog owners
Oak & Hound started with a simple idea: create quality dog products that I’d be proud to use with my own dogs.
My name is Jesse, and I’m the founder of Oak & Hound. Like a lot of dog owners, I know the little daily routines that come with having dogs you love — the walks, the car rides, the muddy paws, the excitement at the door, and yes, always needing dog poop bags when you least expect to run out. After years of wanting to build something of my own, I decided to take that leap and start with a product that every dog owner actually uses.
That’s where Oak & Hound began.
The inspiration behind the brand
This brand was inspired by my two dogs, Harper and Chloe. They’re a huge part of my life, and they were the reason this business became more than just an idea. I wanted to build something real, something practical, useful, and quality-focused, starting with products I’d genuinely trust for my own dogs.
Oak & Hound isn’t a giant corporation or a faceless pet company. It started at home, from humble beginnings, with a dog owner who wanted to create dependable everyday essentials for other dog owners.
Why we started with dog poop bags
Our first product is one of the most everyday products in dog ownership: dog poop bags.
It might not be flashy, but it matters. Dog owners use dog waste bags every single day, and I wanted to create a version that felt reliable, thoughtfully designed, and easy to keep on hand. Instead of making something overcomplicated, the goal was to make something simple and useful, while building a brand people could remember and trust.
Our 540-count lavender scented dog poop bags were created to offer dependable everyday convenience, a larger quantity so you don’t have to keep re-ordering, clean and memorable packaging, and quality-focused design for real daily use.
For us, good pet products should make life easier, not more complicated.
A local Ontario pet brand
Oak & Hound is proudly based in Ontario, Canada. Being a local Canadian dog brand is something I care about, and I want this company to feel personal, approachable, and real. Whether someone finds us online, through Amazon, through a retailer, or by word of mouth, I want them to know there’s a real person behind the brand who genuinely cares about dogs and about creating products that dog owners can feel good about buying.
More than one product
Oak & Hound may have started with dog poop bags, but the bigger vision is to build a trusted pet brand with more thoughtfully designed products over time. The long-term goal is to grow Oak & Hound into a brand that makes everyday life with dogs easier, one product at a time.
Every brand starts somewhere. This one started with Harper, Chloe, a simple idea, and the decision to finally begin.
